Palit Tayo ("we", "us", or "our"), operating via palittayo.com and our mobile applications, is committed to safeguarding the privacy and personal data of mothers, fathers, guardians, and caregivers across the Philippines. This Privacy Policy is crafted in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.

1. Children’s Privacy: Strict Protection

Palit Tayo never collects, solicits, or stores identifying personal information about children. You are never required or asked to provide your child’s full legal name, exact date of birth, photographs showing your child’s face, or school information. Listings categorize items purely by broad developmental age/size stages (e.g., "0-3 Months", "1-2 Years") for sizing compatibility.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account & Profile Information: Display name, email address, optional contact number, optional bio, and profile photo.
  • Approximate Location: Region, province, and city/municipality (e.g., "Quezon City, Metro Manila"). We use approximate city-level location solely for discovery distance. Your precise street or home address is never collected for public listings.
  • Listing Content: Photographs of baby gear, condition descriptions, age ranges, and item preferences.
  • Trade & Messaging Records: Chat messages exchanged between trade participants, offer histories, handoff confirmations, and peer reviews.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data solely to:

  • Facilitate direct peer-to-peer barter, trade reservations, and handoff coordination.
  • Enforce community trust, prevent duplicate listings, and enforce two-sided completion checks.
  • Detect and remove banned or unsafe baby items (e.g., recalled drop-side cribs, expired car seats).
  • Send necessary service notifications regarding trade offers and message responses.

We never sell, rent, or monetize your personal data with third-party advertisers.

4. Your Data Rights & Account Deletion

Under RA 10173, you retain the right to access, rectify, object to processing, and request the complete erasure of your personal data.

You can delete your account at any time directly through the mobile app ("Profile > Delete Account") or by writing to privacy@palittayo.com. Deletion will:

  • Immediately remove all your active listings and profile from public view.
  • Purge your email, phone, and saved items.
  • Retain completed trade audit records anonymously only as required for dispute and fraud prevention.
